Matteo Carlino is a consultant Medical Oncologist, specialising in melanoma, complex non melanoma skin cancer and gastrointestinal cancers. He is appointed to Westmead and Blacktown Hospitals as a Senior Staff Specialist and is a Clinical Associate Professor at the Sydney Medical School, University of Sydney.
Matteo graduated in medicine from the Flinders University. He trained at Westmead Hospital and subsequently undertook a PhD at the Westmead institute for cancer research in affiliation with the Melanoma Institute Australia. He gained his PhD examining predictors of response and mechanisms of resistance to melanoma treatment in 2015.
He became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians in 2012. He continues to practice in the medical treatment of Melanoma, complex skin cancer and gastrointestinal cancers at Westmead, Blacktown and Norwest Hospitals. He has been a principal investigator in over 50 clinical trials. He continues his translational research at the Melanoma Institute Australian and collaborates with colleagues both nationally and internationally.

Matteo is a member of the Medical Oncology Group (Australia). He is a Member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Association for Cancer Research and the International Society for Melanoma Research. He is a faculty member of the Melanoma Institute Australia and is their current Education Lead.
