Dr Guy graduated from the University of Tasmania and then completed his specialty training in cardiology in NSW, being awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians with subspecialty qualifications in Cardiology.
He then undertook doctoral studies at the University of Sydney, being awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree for work on the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias.
Dr Guy is a cardiologist who has trained in using CT scanners to do coronary angiography. He has a strong interest in community based cardiology and a special interest in cancer and chemotherapy related heart disease.
As well as scientific articles in cardiology, Dr Guy has had a text book published by McGraw Hill internationally on the interpretation of the electrocardiograph and has edited a cardiology textbook for McGraw Hill.
He has also developed online education resources for medical practitioners and has developed online handbooks and CD-ROMs for student and doctor education.
