Dr Gayatri Majumudar is a physician with expertise in general and geriatric medicine and takes great pride in her thorough caring approach.
Her specialist practice consists of more than 10 years of experience in perioperative care, comprehensive geriatric reviews, ortho-geriatrics, acute geriatrics, cognition assessments and management of BPSD. She is passionate about maintaining good communication with colleagues and patients, and practices holistic general and aged care medicine.
Her research has included presentations at many national conferences. She is an advocate for Quality Improvement and is currently involved in research projects with Sydney South West Area Health Service.
Her attention to detail is second to none, and she often receives referrals for complex cases as she can apply her specialist expertise to develop the best approach to treatment. You’ll appreciate Dr Majumudar’s pragmatic and thorough approach.
Dr Majumudar graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physician (Geriatrics). She obtained her specialist training from Concord, Royal Prince Alfred and Liverpool Hospitals in Sydney. She is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Society for Geriatric Medicine (ANZSGM) and is also keenly involved in medical student training, having held teaching roles as a conjoint lecturer with the University of New South Wales.
She provides Geriatric services at Fairfield Hospital.
Dr Majumudar is the Unit Director and VMO at the Dementia Specific Unit, Kenmore, where she manages complex cases of Dementia and BPSD. She also provides consultancy services to the Psycho-Geriatric Unit at Kenmore.
When not at work, Dr Majumudar enjoys spending time with family. She is also a keen swimmer and dancer. Dr Majumudar consults in both English and Hindi.
