Dr. Cooper graduated from University of New South Wales and then completed his speciality training in Cardiology, being awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians in 1985.
Dr Cooper did a PhD at Sydney University in Cardiac arrhythmias and was awarded the prestigious Ralph Reader Prize by the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand in recognition of the high standard of his research.
He then undertook post-doctoral work in Utah in the USA.
He returned to practice at Westmead and also attends Mt Druitt and Westmead Private Hospitals. He consults at Westmead and Mt Druitt rooms.
His interests are arrhythmia investigation and management, coronary artery disease, heart failure and adult congenital heart disease. He regularly performs procedures aimed to cure arrhythmias (including atrial fibrillation), coronary angioplasties and percutaneous closures of atrial septal defects.
