Dr Maria Luisa (Marisa) Martin

Dr Marisa Martin is a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist. After completing her medical degree at the University of Sydney she underwent her specialist training including a Gynaecology Surgical Fellow year at Westmead, Blacktown and Auburn Hospitals. Currently, she is a Staff Specialist at Blacktown Hospital where she runs the High Risk Pregnancy and Antenatal Endocrine Clinics. She also runs both Gynaecology and Contraception Clinics.

After attaining her Fellowship in 2014, Dr Martin has been a Clinical Lecturer with both the University of Sydney and UWS. She has acted as a training supervisor since 2015. She is also an examiner for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG).

Dr Martin is a member of AGES (Australasian Gynaecological and Endoscopy Surgery Society) and is a registered Colposcopist with the ASCCP (Australian Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology) since 2014.

Dr Martin aims to provide holistic professional care during pregnancy and labour, working with each woman to allow for a safe and fulfilling birth experience.

She also offers a wide range of gynaecological services to women at all stages of life including management of family planning, abnormal Pap smears, abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvic pain and prolapse. Dr Martin speaks fluent Spanish.

Dr Martin is committed to providing high quality personalised care to all patients, whether that be related to pregnancy or women’s health issues/

Consultation services are offered through the Norwest rooms.

Private obstetric and gynaecological services are available at Westmead Private and Norwest Hospitals. Surgical procedures are also available through Blacktown Hospital.

Patients are delivered by Dr Martin at Westmead Public Hospital if they require a higher level of care.
