Dr Sumi Saha

I am a Gynaecologist and Pain management specialist. I also hold a staff specialist position at the Centenary Hospital for Women’s and Children.
Since commencement of work at the Canberra Hospital as a junior medical officer, I have gained experience at various tertiary hospitals in South Australia, New South Wales and Queensland.

My areas of special interest include, but are not limited to; female pelvic pain, vulvovaginal disorders, advanced laparoscopic procedures including surgical treatment of severe endometriosis, removal of uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts and laparoscopic hysterectomy.

I was awarded the competitive position of laparoscopic fellow at Gold Coast University Hospital and spent one year furthering my complex gynaecological surgical skills prior to returning to the ACT as a staff specialist at The Centenary Hospital for Women and Children in 2019.

An evidence-based approach is important to my practice. I have multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals and have had the opportunity to present my research at national and international meetings. My ongoing commitment to teaching and learning is demonstrated by my attainment of Masters in Reproductive Endocrinology from the University of NSW in 2013 and Masters of Pain Management from the University of Sydney in December 2019.

My goal is to provide individualised, holistic, patient-centred gynaecological care for women from menarche to menopause and beyond.
